Cutting Long Hair
Try a shoulder length cut first if you are considering going from long to short. This will get you used to shorter hair without the dramatic change to a short cut which you may regret. You'll like the volume and flexibility. Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and an appropriate treatment for your hair type.

Pony Tails
Do not use uncoated elastic bands and do not tie too tight. Use a soft cloth hair band. Limit the use of clips or bows as they may break and crease the hair strand

Fine Hair Care
Fine hair needs special treatment as it can appear limp and lifeless. Use a gentle shampoo and conditioner recommended for fine hair.

Hair Treatments
Regular treatment is important for all hair types especially if your hair is chemically treated or damaged. Treatments improve hair structure, elasticity and shine. Treatments can be applied weekly depending on the condition of your hair. Maintain healthy hair with a monthly treatment application.Ensure you visit your stylist for a professional hair repair treatment on a regular basis to maximise on the benefits of your home maintenance programme

Thick Hair Care
It can be hard to manage and cleanse thoroughly because of the volume. Rinse repeatedly to ensure all products have been removed as build-up can cause follicle blockage and hair shaft coating. A Leave-In Conditioner will help control ends of hair.

Scalp Problems
If you have a greasy, dry or flaky scalp it could be for a variety of reasons. Changes in weather climates can affect scalp moisture. Winter causes a dry climate in houses and cold air outside makes skin chapped. Medications can also cause dry scalps. Sebum build up can clog hair follicles which could lead to early hair loss and greasy hair. Many "store brand" dandruff shampoos are very abrasive on the hair and can damage perms, relaxers or colours. Try one of our shampoos designed for dry, flaky or itchy scalp and for greasy hair use a deep cleansing shampoo at least once a week.

Calming Cowlicks
One of the most effective techniques for dealing with cowlicks is to try drying the fringe forward with a vent or round brush so that the cowlick will be weighted down. Another technique is to have a hairstyle that incorporates the cowlick into the style thereby creating lift at the cowlick. Use styling tools to support both styling technique try gels and waxes.

Curling Iron Styling
For longer hold when you style with a curling iron try spraying hairspray BEFORE curling hair.

Volume and Fullness Many modern styles achieved without perms. However, hair still needs a lift to achieve a fuller look. Try getting some highlights by using volumising styling products.

Heated Rollers
When using hot rollers spray dry hair first with hairspray. Spray a section with hairspray and then twist the section before wrapping on the roller to give a spiral look. After rollers have cooled take out rollers and spray with hairspray. Finally turn head upside down and run your fingers through your hair.

Static Hair
Exposing your hair to dry air can create a great deal of static electricity. Build up in your hair, can cause it to stand on end. After preparing your hairstyle spray your hairspray on your brush and simply brush it through your hair from roots to ends. Maintain bounce and flexibility without static electricity and flyaway hair.

After Swimming
Use a clarifying shampoo to remove chlorine in the hair. Chlorine is damaging to the hair and will also join with cooper sulphate in the hair and turn it green.

Hot Hair
Always apply a good conditioner or leave-in treatment with sunscreens in it when out in the sun. The heat from the sun will help the action of the conditioner and the sunscreens will block out the UV rays which cause hair damage.

Colour Treated Hair
Once hair has been chemically treated it needs special care. Colour treated hair can be permed but we would recommend you seek professional help . The sun has a very drying and fading effect on colour treated hair so use hats, scarves or products with sunscreen. Leave-in conditioners generally contain sunscreens to protect against colour fade. Wash carefully with a colour-treated hair shampoo and shut the cuticles with a colour enhancing conditioner. Restore vital moisture, protein and shine by using treatments regularly.

General Care Blot dry after shampooing and conditioning do not wrap hair in a towel. This can knot and damage vulnerable wet hair. Comb with a wide-tooth comb (do not brush), combing from the ends toward the scalp. When blow drying, apply heat until it is almost dry. Leave some moisture in to prevent static. Use a thermal product for maximum protection.
